Impact of Covid-19 on Global and Nepalese economy

The COVID-19 pandemic pushed economies into a Great Lockdown, which helped contain the virus and save lives, but also triggered the worst recession since the Great Depression. Over 75 percent of countries are now reopening at the same time as the pandemic is intensifying in many emerging markets and developing economies. Several countries have started to recover. However, in the absence of a medical solution, the strength of the recovery is highly uncertain and the impact on sectors and countries is uneven.


The united college conducted the session on “Impacts of COVID-19 on Global and Nepalese Economy” for the students of Masters and bachelors on 26th Sept 2020 that belonged to Economics subjects. This session was delivered by Mr. Rudra Pd. Ghimire (Ph.D. scholar, TU, Lecturer of Economics, researcher faculty of economics and involved in economic policy drudgery as a trade expert member of WTO, and so on). The session started at 8 am and ended at 10 pm. This was all about the Scenario of economic repercussion on different productive sectors from the perspective of global and Nepalese context and government policy to fight and overcome this pandemic situation.


In the last 15 minutes, there was an interactive session where participants were allowed to have questions and some of the participants had questions as well. There all together 42 participants were attained including 3 faculty.


This session could provide the scenario of the global economy along with Nepalese from the impacts of COVID 19 and how COVID 19 being destroyed the economic condition of countries and what steps should be taken by the government to protect the economic sector. These issues had been discussed. The session was fruitful for the students and could able to get some ideas as well.


The skill enhancement session will also be conducted to foster the hidden talent and to be competent and such session copes with them to understand the competitive market. So, these sorts of sessions boost their confidence to adapt to the challenging environment.
