United College BBM 5th Semester students (Entrepreneurship Focused Area) had the opportunity to participate in an insightful session titled “Inside the World of Finance and Investment”, organized by Idea Studio Nepal in collaboration with the United Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation (UCEII) on 2081-09-22 at Idea Studio Nepal, Babarmahal.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Rukmani Maharjan, Idea Studio Nepal, who shared practical insights on financial investment, startup development, and entrepreneurship support mechanisms in Nepal. The interactive discussion provided a clear understanding of the entrepreneurial journey—from idea generation to business operations and scaling.
Key areas covered included business idea generation, investment concepts in entrepreneurship, value chain understanding, types of businesses, business registration procedures in Nepal, initial capital formation models, and the concept of collateral in business financing. Special emphasis was given to how Idea Studio Nepal supports startups without collateral, including the role of IIIF (Industrial Innovation Investment Fund) in providing personal guarantees and enabling bank financing.
The session also highlighted the comprehensive startup support ecosystem offered by Idea Studio Nepal, such as innovation mentoring, seed funding, investor connections, annual investment planning, business networking, internship opportunities, and employability support.
Overall, the program was highly informative and inspiring, equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with practical knowledge on investment, financial guarantees, and institutional support systems essential for startup success.
