Here is how each program looks right now.
BBS (Bachelor in Business Studies)
BBS runs for 4 years and does not require CMAT. You just need a second division in plus two or a GPA of 2.0 or above, plus a TU entrance exam. This is the program most students pick when they want the lowest-cost option.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application)
BCA runs for 4 years across eight semesters, under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. You need a D+ grade in every subject of grade 11 and 12, along with a second division of 40% or a 2.0 GPA. You also need to score at least 40% in the entrance exam to reach the interview stage. Only 35 seats are open this year, so early application matters.

BBM (Bachelor in Business Management)

BA (Bachelor in Arts)
BA is a 4-year program. It is one of the cheapest bachelor degrees you can get in Nepal. You need a second division in plus two or equivalent. United College runs its BA program with an added IBM IT and HCL component, which is not common at most other colleges.
MBS (Master in Business Studies)
MBS is for students who already hold a BBS or any other bachelor's degree. It requires a CMAT score from the Faculty of Management. The test has 100 questions. It covers five sections: verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning, general awareness, and business and economics. You get 90 minutes to finish it.
United College is also running a free CMAT and entrance preparation class right now for the 2083 batch. If you are still building your basics before the exam, this is worth checking out since it costs nothing and covers all four test sections.
Scholarships go up to full tuition fee for top rank holders in every semester. Students transferring from other colleges can also apply for merit-based scholarships, depending on their GPA.

Universities With Bachelor Admission Open
TU colleges are not the only option. Two universities in Nepal also have bachelor admission open, and both work differently from a TU-affiliated college.
Nepal Open University
Nepal Open University runs on a semester or annual system and works differently from TU colleges. It offers BA, BBS, LLB, BES and a one year B.Ed, and most programs do not need a written entrance test the way TU does. Applications go through the university's own online portal, and classes are built around a flexible, self-paced structure. This makes NOU a good option for students who are working alongside their studies or who prefer a lighter class schedule.
Kathmandu University
Kathmandu University runs its own separate bachelor admission process, outside the TU system. It offers programs such as Bachelor of Information Technology and a dual degree combining Bachelor of Arts in English Studies with a Bachelor of Education in TESOL. KU has its own entrance requirements and its own academic calendar, so deadlines will not match TU dates.

TU, KU and NOU: Which Path Fits You
Each university suits a different kind of student. TU colleges like United College are best for students who want an in-person classroom experience. You get a fixed batch of classmates and a clear entrance test route. KU suits students chasing a more research-focused or specialised program. NOU suits students who need flexibility, since it leans on distance and semester-based learning rather than daily classes.
If you are unsure which path fits, the entrance exam type is usually the deciding factor. TU management programs need CMAT, TU humanities programs like BCA need a TU entrance test, and NOU mostly skips the written exam altogether.

How to Apply for Bachelor Admission in Nepal
The process looks slightly different depending on which program you pick, but the general steps stay the same.
Check Your Eligibility
Most TU programs need at least a second division in plus two, and some ask for a specific CGPA instead. Confirm this before you fill any form, since a mismatch here can cost you the whole admission cycle.
Fill the Entrance or CMAT Form
For BCA at United College, the form for the current batch opened on 29 June 2026. The exam is set for 16 August 2026, and the normal fee deadline is 5 August 2026. If you miss that, a late window with double fee runs until 10 August 2026. For CMAT programs like BBM and MBS, the application fee is paid online. Your form must then be physically verified at your chosen college before the deadline set by the Faculty of Management.
Sit for the Exam
Bring your admit card and arrive early. Sections usually test verbal ability, quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning and general knowledge, and management programs add a business and economics section too.
Attend the Interview
Colleges use your entrance score along with your academic record and interview performance to build the final merit list.
Submit Documents and Confirm Your Seat
Once selected, you need to bring your original certificates for verification before your seat is locked in.
Documents You Need for Bachelor Admission
Keep these ready well before your interview date. Scrambling for paperwork at the last moment is a common reason students lose their seat.
You will generally need a few documents. This includes your plus two or equivalent certificate, your entrance or CMAT result certificate and admit card, a copy of your citizenship certificate, two passport-size photos, a character certificate from your school, your provisional certificate from NEB, and your original migration certificate from NEB.
Apply for Bachelor Admission Now
If you have finished plus two and you are ready to move ahead, do not wait until the last week of the entrance window. Seats at United College fill up fast once results are out. You can fill out the admission form here or check full program details on the United College admissions page.
