At the Orientation Program 2083, the United College has welcomed its new set of students of the Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) courses. The event took place at the IT Lab of the college in Kumaripati, Lalitpur on September 23, 2026 (Ashoj 07, 2083). It was the official beginning of the academic year for the freshers. Students were acquainted with college life, faculty and opportunities coming their way.
A Formal Welcome to New Students
The event started with the registration of the new students, followed by the presence of the leaders from United Academy Group. Among them were Drip Chamling (Founder Chairperson, United Academy Group), Dr. Kabi Raj Bantawa (Founder Academic Director), and Nara Hang Rai (Founder Director). Dr. Lal Rapacha (Campus Chief, United College) welcomed the students along with introducing their orientation program 2083.
His message centered on discipline and consistency through the undergraduate years. He encouraged the new batch to make full use of the academic and co-curricular opportunities available at United College.
How Personal Development Happens at United College
Mahesh Aryal, Program Director, spoke on how personal development happens at United College. He walked students through the various clubs and units open to them, including the United Entrepreneurs Club under UCEII, Toastmasters Club, LEO Club, United Event Management Club, United Sports Club, United Cultural Club, United Digital Media Club, United Publication Club, United IT Club, United Students Quality Circle, and the United Outreach and Extension Club. These clubs give students a space to build skills outside the classroom. Public speaking, event planning, and community outreach are just a few examples.
Guidance From College Leadership
Sudeep Sigel, the college's new Senior Program Coordinator, also addressed the students. He shared a few words welcoming the new batch. He spoke about what students can expect as they settle into academic life at United College.
Academic Director Bantawa spoke on academic research and what to expect from college life. This gave new students a clearer picture of how their three years will be structured across BCA, BBM, and BBS.
Support Systems for New Students
The session also covered support systems available to students, such as counseling, career guidance, and the various clubs and units active on campus. This is meant to help new students settle in faster and know where to turn for help once classes begin.

Why This Matters for New Students
An orientation program like this gives new students a direct introduction to the college's rules, academic calendar, and campus resources. They do not have to figure these things out on their own during the first few weeks. Sessions like this also cut down on the confusion many new BCA, BBM, and BBS students face early on. Course structure, faculty contacts, and simply finding their way around campus are common early struggles.
Looking Ahead
Orientation Program 2083 reflects United College's continued focus on preparing students academically and professionally. Students get access to initiatives such as C2C (College to Corporate) and the UCEII incubation center. The United Ignite pitching competition also remains open to them throughout their program.
United College is considered to be one of the best colleges as well as an affordable college in the Kathmandu Valley. Admission is open for the ongoing intake of BCA, BBM, and BBS programs. Students who are interested can apply via the admissions page form.
