The wait is finally over. The National Examination Board published the Class 12 result for 2083 today, Asar 5, right after Friday's board meeting gave it the final approval. It took just 35 days from the day the exam ended, which is already being talked about as the fastest Class 12 result in Nepal's history, even quicker than the accelerated SEE result earlier this year.

Around four lakh eighteen thousand (14,18,000) students appeared for the exam this year, and a large number of them across Kathmandu and Lalitpur, including many students from United Academy, were refreshing their phones the moment the result went live.

How to Check Your Result Right Now

If you haven't had a look, then here is the fastest way to do so. Enter your symbol number and date of birth (BS) on open neb.ntc.net.np, either on your phone or on your computer. When the entire group is making a check at the same time, type NEB and then your symbol number and press send as an SMS message to 1600.

How to Check Your Marksheet Online

Once your result is confirmed, you can pull up your full marksheet using the same details you used to check your result. Here is how to do it.

  • Go to neb.ntc.net.np or neb.gov.np on your device.
  • Enter your symbol number and date of birth in BS format.
  • Click Submit to load your result along with your full marksheet.
  • Download or screenshot the marksheet so you have a digital copy saved.
  • Collect your original marksheet and certificate from your school/college once they are distributed.

Your marksheet shows a grade for each subject rather than a single percentage, and your overall GPA out of 4.0 sits at the top as your final score. Here is what each grade actually stands for.

Marks Obtained Grade Grade Point
90 to 100 A+ 4.0
80 to below 90 A 3.6
70 to below 80 B+ 3.2
60 to below 70 B 2.8
50 to below 60 C+ 2.4
40 to below 50 C 2.0
35 to below 40 D 1.6
Below 35 NG Not Graded

If you see NG against any subject, it simply means you did not clear the minimum 35 percent in that subject, and you will get another shot through the grade increment exam later in the year. If you feel your marks were added incorrectly, you can apply for retotaling through the official NEB website during the short window that opens right after the result. And if anything on your marksheet looks wrong in some other way, or you need a duplicate copy later for college admission, you can request a correction or a fresh copy through your school or directly at the NEB office in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.

What the Result Looks Like So Far

Understanding Your Marksheet

A quick note for anyone confused looking at their marksheet for the first time. NEB grades each subject individually rather than giving you one combined percentage, so your final result shows a GPA out of 4.0 instead of a total mark. If you see NG against any subject, it simply means you did not clear the minimum 35% percent in that subject, and you will get another shot through the grade increment exam later in the year. If you feel your marks were added incorrectly, you can apply for retotaling through the official NEB website during the short window that opens right after the result.
