The BBM fee structure in Nepal depends on the type of college. Public TU campuses charge about NPR 3 to 4 lakh for the full course. Most private colleges charge NPR 6 to 8 lakh. How much are BBM course fees in Nepal per semester?

BBM runs for 4 years with 8 semesters. So colleges split the total fee into 8 parts, one for each semester.

Here is the rough cost per semester:

Public campus: NPR 37,500 to 50,000
Private college: NPR 75,000 to 1,00,000

These are averages. At many colleges, the first semester costs a bit more. That's because it includes admission and registration charges.

Why are BBM fees in government colleges lower than in private colleges?

Government campuses get support from the state. That's why their BBM fees stay low. Private colleges pay their own costs. This includes teachers, buildings, labs and student services.

So what really changes? Class size, teacher attention, internships and career help. Before you compare fees, ask each college what the fee covers. A cheaper total is not always cheaper in the end.

What is included in the BBM fee, and what do you pay extra?

Most colleges include tuition, admission, library and internal exams in the BBM fee. Still, some costs sit outside it.

Is BBM more expensive than BBS in Nepal?

Yes, and the gap is big. BBS is an annual program with large classes. BBM is a semester program with a CMAT entrance and smaller sections. That's why it costs more.

At public TU campuses, the full 4-year BBS often costs less than NPR 50,000. Private colleges usually charge NPR 2 to 3 lakh for BBS.

Is there a BBM scholarship in Nepal to reduce the fee?

Yes, you can get help from TU and from the college itself.

TU scholarship through CMAT

TU asks every BBM college to give scholarships through CMAT. In each section, 2 students get a 50% cut on tuition. Seats go by merit, and students from community schools come first.

BBM scholarship at United College

United College gives fee waivers based on your +2 GPA and CMAT result. For students joining from other colleges, the waivers look like this:

Who can join BBM, and how does admission work?

BBM eligibility

You need to finish +2 or equivalent from a board recognized by TU. Under the grading system, you need at least D+ in each subject of grade 11 and 12. Your CGPA must be 1.80 or more. Under the old system, a second division is enough.

BBM admission steps

The first thing is to pass the CMAT exam. Have not taken the exam in August? TU has a second chance. The CMAT re-entrance exam is on Ashoj 17, 2083 (October 3, 2026). Please refer to our CMAT re-entrance notice 2083 for dates.

After that, you apply to a TU college. The college admits students by CMAT merit. Some colleges also take a short interview.

What is the BBM fee at United College, Lalitpur?

The total BBM fee at United College is around NPR 5 to 6 lakh. That is lower than the 6 to 8 lakh most private BBM colleges in Nepal charge. You pay it in 8 semester installments.
